Pea Soup & Pancakes -- March, 2000
During the early 1500's in Sweden, their king had a passion for Swedish pea soup and pancakes. He had this meal for his supper at least once a week, usually on Thursday. Evidently, someone in the castle kitchen did not like the king. The King's pea soup was laced with poison, which resulted in the untimely death of the King.
Today, many of Sweden's citizens and some Swedish-americans carry on this Thursday tradition, but, without the poison.
