Hi friends and family,

Many of you have asked me to keep you posted on Brooke's medical condition, and I wanted to forward an update and a request for your prayers. Brooke has been in the hospital 4 times this year with minor kidney procedures, and now the kidney transplant process begins.   For those of you who do not know, Brooke is 13 and was born with Vater's Syndrome, pretty much all her organs are deformed and/or diseased. Heart, kidney, GI, spine... despite all her problems, she does great. Brooke has lived with kidney disease her entire life with medication, but it is no longer manageable with just medication. So she will go in for surgery next Tuesday, November 21,  to have her kidneys removed and have a dialysis "line" put in. She will be on dialysis for about 2 months, and then have the kidney transplant. I am fortunate that I am compatible, so I will be the donor.

From Nov 2006 until April 2007 is going to be a very hard time for her. During this time, please keep her in your prayers. Also, if you would like to send her a card, you can send it to   Brooke Kelly PMB 225 13176 N. Dale Mabry Hwy Tampa, FL  33618   Dialysis is 3 times a week on a machine for 4 hours at a time. I would love her to be opening mail everyday to lift her spirits.

Even if she does not know who is sending the cards, I would love for her to know that she is in the thoughts and prayers of so many. Please feel free to forward this email to people you know that might want to send her a card.   As you can imagine, it is hard to watch your child go through something like this, but Brooke is in great spirits. She is loved by so many, and has such great support, that even through all her medical drama, she is still one of the happiest people that I know. God has always taken such great care of her. I trust that come spring, she will be better than ever.

Kim
